Young Deaf Activities is a local charity established over 20 years ago. Its primary aim is to encourage children and young people with any level of hearing impairment or dual-sensory loss to become confident and independent in any environment.
This is acheived through a range of activities including Saturday clubs, holiday activities, parties and away-days. We run a Saturday morning gathering for babies and young children with hearing impairment or dual-sensory loss and their parents.
We also support hearing parents and siblings of the hearing-impaired child by enabling them to communicate effectively with their child through improved sign-language skills.
This is all achieved with the fantastic support of volunteers and paid specialists in their field. It costs around £30,000 each year to run YDA. We receive some very welcome aid from local authorities and wonderful supporters and other donors but we very much need more help to carry on this very important work.
You can get further insight into our aims and activities from our web-site: www.yda.org.uk
We need your help so we can continue to offer and even expand our service!
Thank you for your support, enjoy the lottery and good luck!
